3000 Nights 18
Being incarcerated for a crime you didn’t commit ranks fairly highly on the list of worst things to happen to a person. In recent times, Palestinian political prisoners were arrested and locked up with Israeli criminal prisoners in high security Israeli prisons. This is the world of ‘Layal’, a young Palestinian school teacher who finds herself inside such a place after picking up a young hitchhiker. Once inside she learns she is pregnant. 3000 Nights tells her story, and finds hope in humanity when everything that makes a person human is being deliberately eradicated.
