The Showroom is one of the largest independent cinemas in the country, programming a diverse range of independent and foreign language films as well as producing and hosting several festivals. Admissions have grown year on year since the cinema opened in 1993 and it is now seen as a landmark cultural venue for the city and region beyond.
The venue attracts a large proportion of young people, students and largely attracts an ABC1 demographic. Located in the heart of the city’s cultural industries quarter, many of the venues’ regulars are creative professionals with a strong interest in the arts and cultural events.
Additionally The Workstation creative business centre is next door and houses more than 60 small businesses in the creative and digital industries as well as hosting visual arts exhibitions, conferences and other events.
