The Brand New Testament 15
God’s daughter takes matters into her own hands in this offbeat, irreverent and unexpectedly touching Belgian comedy. Jaco Van Dormael’s God is a cantankerous and abusive one, doling out pain and punishment from his computer. His idealistic young daughter Ea decides that she could do better and finds ten new disciples to help her, each with their own darkly comic life story. Woven together, they create a tableau of life-affirming and joyous vignettes. A charming and admittedly, deeply strange film that will delight, for fans of Amelie and Micmacs.
