What makes a monster? The young son of an American diplomat becomes deeply affected by the events of World War I. As his tantrums and sociopathic behaviour spiral, a terrifying portrait of his future begins to emerge. Allusions to the rise of Hitler and Mussolini make this an intriguing and richly drawn historical psychodrama.
