Christopher Lloyd is uniquely qualified to guide us through the galleries of England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. In Search of a Masterpiece is a personal selection of paintings that will excite others to visit galleries and museums. The book can be enjoyed at home or out in the company of the pictures – either way, Christopher Lloyd shares the thrill of expectation and sheer pleasure he experiences whenever he walks into a gallery.
Christopher Lloyd's distinguished career includes working in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford , a Fellowship at Villa I Tatti in Florence, Visiting Research Curator of Early Italian Painting at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was Surveyor of The Queen’s Pictures in the British Royal Collection from 1988 to 2005.
His publications include monographs on painters, catalogues of museum collections, and surveys of the Royal Collection.
