Daniel Dorling is Professor of Human Geography at the University of Sheffield and a leading member of the team that has developed the website Worldmapper. He has published 25 books the latest of which is Injustice: Why Social Inequality Persists. Here, using the five social evils identified by Beveridge in the 1940s, Professor Dorling argues that we are faced by five new tenets of injustice - elitism, exclusion, prejudice, greed and despair.
In this presentation using film, music, graphs, cartoons and maps, the ideas within the book are investigated. To do this Daniel Dorling has teamed up with geography lecturer Carl Lee, from Sheffield College who will question him about his thinking and explore how all this impacts upon the lives of people in Sheffield and beyond.
