Orson Welles takes the legendary Shakespearean character Sir John Falstaff and creates a leading man. Scenes are borrowed from a variety of plays but focus on two parts of Henry IV. Falstaff is recast as a hero in what is often regarded as Welles’ finest Shakespearean adaptation.
