Hugo U
Welcome to a magical world of spectacular adventure! Martin Scorsese’s ode to the wonder of cinema focuses on Hugo, a boy who lives by himself in the Gare Monparnasse railway station in 1930s Paris. Hugo lives alone inside the walls of the station tinkering with watches, mending a precious automaton and literally making sure that the station runs like clockwork.
Based on the novel ‘The Invention of Hugo Cabret’ by Brian Selznick and taking in cinematic pioneers such as the Lumiere brothers and Georges Méliès, Hugo mixes fantasy, reality, magic and tradition to create a delightful fable that is moving, funny and exhilarating.
