Julieta 15
Julieta is an homage to the work of Alice Monroe, based on three of her short stories. Set in Madrid, Julieta has just lost her husband, Xoan. After a chance encounter, she is forced to consider the most important things in her life: her daughter, who disappeared 13 years ago.
We are then led deep into the tragedy of Julieta’s life, retracing her steps over the 32 years since she conceived her child. The film plays out like a detective story, only there are no crimes. It is Julieta herself who is the mystery.
Thursday 1 September's 18:30 screening of Julieta will be introduced by Ana Maria Sanchez-Arce
