Kes PG
Billy Casper doesn’t have a lot going for him, bullied at home by his big brother Judd, ignored by his mother, and given no option in life but to work in the coal mines like the rest of the town. Until he finds a kestrel, who he cares for, trains, and names Kes.
Based on the novel by local author Barry Hines, Ken Loach's classic film was voted number 7 in the British Film Institute's Top 100 British Films.
This screening follows the Off the Shelf event H is for Hawk with Helen Macdonald.
You can buy a combo ticket for the talk and the screening of Kes at the Showroom Box Office for £14 / £9.60 concessions. Tickets for the talk or film individually are available in the usual way.
