Spring season
Thursday 24 May, 12.30-1.30pm
Speaker: Lianne Mellor
Topic: Idea to Entrepreneur
Lianne's talk is entitled "taking an idea" and will explain how she took inspiration from her passions, past times and products that she loves to create a business.
Lianne will discuss the progress her business has made so far, and how she managed to create and grow a successful business during a recession and economic downturn. Lianne will also talk about the pitfalls of running your own business, with a pinch of advice thrown in about how to counteract and prepare for them.
This talk is not about how to identify a gap in the market and simply fill it. This talk is about how to hone everything you are, the inspiration and values you hold, and use that passion to create a business that you love!
This talk will be particularly useful to pre-start, start-ups and existing businesses wishing to find inspiration in the ideas they already have.
Lianne Mellor is the designer and illustrator of a range of homeware called Mellor Ware. Her business has recently taken up residence in the Workstation.
