Off The Shelf: 7 Miles Out
Acclaimed filmmaker Carol Morley (The Falling, Dreams of a Life) draws on her own troubled youth in 1970s Manchester to tell a raw, darkly funny story of a life brought back from the brink. Traumatised by her father’s suicide, 11-year-old Ann struggles to escape the shadow of grief and guilt, a struggle that will lead to dark years but also, through determination and love, to a new strength.
