Another free standing and independent film, the third instalment of Alan Mak and Felix Chong’s highly successful Overheard series offers a story that focuses on corruption around land acquisition in Hong Kong’s New Territories. Again displaying a strong social conscience,Overheard 3 once again offers Lau Ching-wan, Louis Koo, Daniel Wu new roles and needs no previous knowledge of the series to enjoy this taut and complex story.

Felix Chong Man-Keung is one of contemporary Hong Kong cinema’s most celebrated figures. As a co-writer of the influential Infernal Affairs and co-director of the highly successful Overheard series he has become a key figure in recent developments in Hong Kong crime films. A winner of numerous awards for his writing and directing, we are pleased to welcome Felix Chong to the UK in early March to discuss his work as part of Crime: Hong Kong Style. He will present the UK premieres of both Once A Gangster and Overheard 3 at HOME, Manchester, as well as three further Q&As with Overheard 3 in Edinburgh, London and Sheffield.
