It’s the summer of 1984 – Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is on strike. At the Gay Pride March in London, a group of gay and lesbian activists decides to raise money to support the families of the striking miners. But there is a problem. The Union seems embarrassed to receive their support. But the activists are not deterred...

Global Gay Films are a group of budding programmers who participated in the BFI Audience Academy residential in Sheffield. At the Academy, 30 young people from around the UK, worked with industry experts to learn all aspects of getting films in front of audiences. Two of the groups won some money to put on a programme of their choosing. We are very excited that Global Gay Films' event: This Film Fest is Gay will be screening on Sunday 11th: Two outstanding films, Girls Lost and Pride, with live interval entertainment from Sheffield's gay choir Out Aloud, who will be singing in the bar from 5:30pm. Come support our young programmers on what is sure to be a fantastic occasion.
