A Throw of Dice with Live Score U
A Throw of Dice (1929) directed by Franz Osten and Himansu Rai is a triumph of early Bollywood cinema. Inspired by parts of the Indian sanskrit epic the Mahabharata, this sumptuously filmed tale of love and hazard sees two rival kings vie for the love of one woman over a game of chance.
Sheffield University Concerts and Jazz North present Unfurl: an ensemble whose music expands across continents, combining Indian ragas, flamenco and Arabic music with improvisation to create an original sound ranging from the dramatic to the sublime. They are joined by Sitarist Jasdeep Singh Degun.
