A Mountain Journal – Nicky Spinks- 5mins

Beef farmer Nicky currently holds the women’s record for the four toughest fell running challenges in the UK - The Bob Graham Round,  The Ramsay Round, The Paddy Buckley and the Lake District Record, completing 64 Peaks in 23 hours and 15 minutes. Ten years on from a mastectomy for breast cancer she talks about how she hopes to inspire other cancer patients to have hope for the future.

Red Run- 2mins

Sheffield Ski Village closed in April 2012. Local filmmaker Ed Birch (who has also produced this year’s ShAFF trailer) took two skiers and one boarder back to the charred remains of the dry ski slope where they learned to ski. The ski village was a key piece in the journey of some of the UK's best freestyle skiers to the top of their sport, including James Woods, James Machon, Ellie Koyander and Katie Summerhayes, all of whom are now Team GB athletes. The film, which has become a viral hit, aims to drum-up support for the Sheffield Ski Village in the city known as the UK’s Outdoor City.

Bob Graham Round- 20mins

In April 2015 Nicky Spinks set out to beat her own women's record of 18 hours 12 minutes for the Bob Graham Round, the legendary Lake District fell running endurance challenge. This film follows the highs and lows of her record attempt. London born farmer, record-breaking fell runner and cancer survivor Nicky Spinks moved to a farm in Glossop in her childhood and has loved the Peak District and surrounding moors ever since. Nicky took up competitive running in 2001.

Operation Moffatt- 20mins

Operation Moffat takes inspiration and wit from the colourful climbing life of Britain's first female mountain guide, Gwen Moffat. Grappling with her preference for mountains over people, adventure over security, wilderness over tick lists, writer Claire Carter and filmmaker Jen Randall climb, run, scramble and swim their way through some of Gwen's most cherished British landscapes. Including candid interviews with 91 year old Gwen, a fresh take on landscape photography, previously unseen archive materials and unashamedly real action sequences, the film captures Gwen's infectious excitement for a life constantly seeking something strange or beautiful around the next bend.

Our Charity Partner

We're delighted to once again support Sheffield Hospitals Charity in their campaign to raise funds for a new helipad at Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital.  Once again a suggested £1 donation from every ticket sold will go towards raising the £198,000 still needed to complete the project.

The Sheffield Helipad Appeal: ‘Saving Time, Saving Lives’ was launched in October 2014 by Sheffield Hospitals Charity to raise funds to build a new helipad next to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at the Northern General Hospital.  Click here to read the press release...
