An adaptation of the Posy Simmonds comic strip based on Thomas Hardy’s Far From the Madding Crowd has been described as ‘like the filthiest possible episode of The Archers’. The story centres on the residents of a middle-class rural English town, namely Tamara, a former ugly-duckling turned vivacious career woman returning to the place she grew up and ruffling the feather’s of a few of the locals.
