The Ardennes 15
The Ardennes initially focuses on a family reunion: one that takes place four years after a robbery that two brothers (Kenny and Dave) committed, but only one (Kenny) was arrested and imprisoned for. Whilst his brother was incarcerated, Dave has worked to turn his life around but this is all disrupted upon Kenny’s return as his prison past haunts them in the form of an old cellmate. With echoes of the Coens and Tarantino, Robin Pront’s directorial debut opens as a tense family drama, which gradually reveals its dark, comic heart as the action unfolds.
