The Eagle Huntress U
Deep in the snow-capped Altai Mountains of northwest Mongolia, a girl trains to become an Eagle Hunter. It’s a job traditionally handed down from father to son and 13-year-old Aisholpan is the first female in 12 generations to break with convention to tame a golden eagle, to hunt and provide for her family. Shot over a year, this beautiful documentary follows Aisholpan as she conquers tradition and gender rules by becoming the first girl to enter the community’s annual Golden Eagle contest.
