The Artist PG
A heartfelt, gloriously uplifting ode to classic American cinema, The Artist is black-and-white with no dialogue, playfully employing the film styles it celebrates. Hollywood 1927. George Valentin is a charismatic silent movie superstar, but the advent of the talkies will see him fall into oblivion. However, for young extra Peppy Miller, the talkies are her ticket to stardom. Equal parts comedy, romance and melodrama, this is cinematic hot chocolate.
"What a wonderful picture this is: one of those films you yearn to watch again and again...
It is one of the most eloquent movies imaginable."
