Louis (Michel Subor) is a rugged 68-year-old recluse who lives in the Swiss wilderness with his dogs protecting his cabin from a range of shady intruders until a heart attack forces him to travel to Korea to have a black-market transplant. He buys a boat and sails to an island near Tahiti to find a son he abandoned years before, but his personal odyssey is threatened when his body begins to reject his newly purchased heart.
