Timbuktu 12A
A cattle herder and his family residing in the dunes of Timbuktu find their neighbouring town overtaken by a fanatical group of jihadis determined to carry out their own law and order. Suddenly women and men alike are denied basic freedoms (gloves to cover decency, no music or football) and fear rules. Inspired by real events involving the public stoning of an unmarried couple, this film is gripping throughout.
