Tony Benn: Will & Testament 12A
Tony Benn, the longest serving Labour MP in history, is also, arguably, the most popular UK politician of all time. Across the globe and in particular over the last five years his brand of socialism has struck a chord with people of all ages and social backgrounds. For the first time ever through intimate, quasi confessional interviews and his personal, photographic and film archive ‘Will And Testament’ reveals a very human face behind the political mask.
We are pleased to be hosting special events at the following screenings of Tony Benn: Will & Testament:
Saturday 4 October 6.15pm
Introduction and audience Q&A with Roy Bailey, Sheffield based musician and long standing collaborator with Tony Benn. Roy will introduce the film and take part in a Q & A session with the audience after the film. In 2003, Roy Bailey and Tony Benn were awarded "Best Live Act" at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for their programme Writing on the Wall.
Sunday 5 October 4.30pm
Following the screening Journalist and Author Samantha Norman will host a panel discussion with guests including former BBC Political Editor John Sergeant, Labour MP for Islington North Jeremy Corbyn, convenor of the Stop The War Coalition Lindsey German and Director Of Photography on Will and Testament Michael Miles.
