You've Been Trumped PG
Funny, inspiring and shocking in equal measure, this David and Goliath tale for the 21st Century documents what happens when Donald Trump arrives on Aberdeenshire's coast determined to build what he claims will be ''the world's greatest golf course". The proposal is met with fury by environmental groups - this is one of Britain's very last stretches of coastal wilderness, and a protected conservation area. But the Scottish Government, wooed by promises of '6,000 jobs across Scotland' overturns its own environmental laws to give the tycoon the green light.
Now Trump is running roughshod over anyone remaining in his path - including long-term residents whose homes threaten to mar the view (just like the off-shore wind farm planned for the coast). Water and power is cut off, land disputes erupt, and some residents have thousands of tonnes of earth piled up next to their homes. Complaints go ignored by the police, who instead arrest the film's director, Anthony Baxter, in what the National Union of Journalists calls an “unprecedented” breach of media freedom.
