Written and directed by Ameen Nayfeh, 200 Meters tells the story of a father’s desperate attempts to reach his son. Mustafa and his wife Salwa live only 200 meters apart in small villages separated by the Israeli West Bank Barrier. One day, Mustafa gets a call that every parent dreads: his son has had an accident. Rushing to the cross the Israeli checkpoint and reach his son, Mustafa is denied entry on a technicality and his forced to try and smuggle himself to the other side of the wall to reach his family.

Every year, to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Showroom Cinema runs screenings in collaboration with Cinema Palestino. This year, we are delighted to present a special preview of the first feature film from director Ameen Nayfeh, 200 Meters.This film will be introduced by Shahd Abusalama, PhD student in Palestinian Cinema at Sheffield Hallam University, and will be followed by a Q&A via Zoom link with May Odeh, Producer of 200 Meters.
