A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood PG
A timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood is based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod.
Lloyd Vogel is a world-weary New York journalist, assigned the task of profiling one of America’s most popular children’s entertainers, Fred Rogers, aka Mr Rogers. While he at first approaches Rogers’ kindness with scepticism, Vogel is soon softened by Rogers’ empathy and his genuine interest in helping him deal with personal issues in his life. Vogel is warmed by the sincerity of America’s most beloved neighbour, learning that his approach to life is valuable for everyone – not just children.
