A Hero 12A
Written and directed by acclaimed Iranian director Asghar Farhadi comes A Hero, a story which follows imprisoned calligrapher Rahim who was jailed for a debt he couldn’t repay. When Rahim is given two days leave, he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint, but things don’t go as planned…
Farhadi is the master-storyteller behind oscar-winners A Separation (2011) and The Salesman (2016), and he crafts a similarly twisty, tangled plot with A Hero. A powerful, complex exploration of no good deed going unpunished, A Hero is a rich account of the slippery slopes of morality, which took home the Grand Prix award at 2021’s Cannes Film Festival.
