A family of three faithful Jehovah's Witnesses have unbearable pressure placed upon them when a daughter becomes pregnant and is barred from the faith. Forced to shun her, her mother and sister begin to question the meaning of God's love.
This little-explored topic is handled with sensitivity, sympathy and an eerie quietness: a story evidently told by a writer/director once involved with the Witness’ himself.
Shot in Manchester, this powerful feature debut is elevated by three striking female performances. An outstanding example of the great potential in new British voices.
There will be a Q&A with director Daniel Kokotajlo after the screening
