Apprenticeship top 100

Success for Showroom Workstation as they are recognised as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer

Showroom Workstation, Sheffield’s independent cinema and managed workspace has been recognised in the prestigious Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list, sponsored by City & Guilds, which is compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices. The list was announced at the National Apprenticeship Awards, which took place on 26th January at the Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel, London.

After winning  Best Newcomer Employer at the Yorkshire and the Humber final of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2015, Showroom Workstation went forward to feature in the list, which showcases the breadth of employers who now offer apprenticeships.

Showroom Workstation currently offers placements across all areas of the business including marketing, film programming, conferencing, finance, buildings maintenance and catering. They also provide additional pastoral support to help with the transition into full-time work and mentoring to improve long term employability prospects once their apprentices have completed their placements.

Commenting on the company’s entry in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list, Showroom Workstation’s General Manager, Julie Simpson said:

“We are extremely proud to have been included in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer List, amongst all the other fantastic companies from around the UK. We are still a relative newcomer to apprenticeships, so feel like this is the start of an exciting journey.

We have already helped our current apprentices to gain additional qualifications which will help them to achieve their dream jobs or allow them to attend University.  We plan to build on this in future years as we develop our apprenticeship offer and employ more apprentices across the company.”

Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service commented on Showroom Workstation being named a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer:

“The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list 2015 demonstrates clearly the impact apprentices can have on an organisation. These Top 100 apprenticeship employers have made a difference to the lives of young people by investing in their future whilst apprentices themselves help employers to develop a skilled, qualified workforce that builds a stronger economy.

Apprentice employers are creating opportunities for young people to gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, in some cases up to degree level, while working and earning. I hope that the success of these Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers will encourage more businesses across England to follow their example and find out how apprenticeships can help grow a skilled and highly qualified workforce.”

Chris Jones, Chief Executive of the City & Guilds Group, said:

“High quality apprenticeship programmes can help individuals gain the skills they need to progress. And for employers, apprenticeships play a crucial role in developing a skilled workforce. These Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers have experienced these benefits first hand; I hope other employers are motivated to follow in their footsteps.”
