Aquarius 18
Faced with mounting pressure to sell her apartment to property developers, Clara (Sonia Braga) is the last one standing and must fight fire with fire. To the money-driven developers, the space is a prime investment opportunity but for Clara it is her home and she is prepared to do whatever it takes to save it. Aquarius is a film that studies our obsession with and attachment to places, objects and echoes of the past and how they make our lives rich with meaning. It is also a film about a woman - her life, loves and memories - and Braga is faultless as the unstoppable force that is Clara.
