Following the commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss (Christian Friedel), and his wife Hedwig (Sandra Hüller), strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.
Based on the novel by Martin Amis, Glazer has adapted the book to be a powerful and deeply chilling account of the calculations and machinations behind the construction of the Holocaust, and the disturbing juxtaposition of idyllic Nazi home life alongside mass genocide.
Featuring another superb performance from Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), an unshakeable score by Mica Levi (Under the Skin, Jackie), and Jonathan Glazer at his peak in crafting an unforgettable and deeply affecting consideration and depictions of the horrors of World War II.
