Boy is a heart-warming and bittersweet coming-of-age film set in rural New Zealand, where an 11-year-old Māori boy named Boy lives with his younger brother, Rocky, and cousins in a modest home.

With humour, heart, and stunning visuals, the film explores themes of childhood imagination, familial love, and the tender yet complex bond between a boy and his father.

The Young Programmers selected Boy as part of their Return to Youth film festival as it represents the male perspective of childhood innocence and the way in which boys desire their world to be. Directed by Taika Waititi, Boy is a touching celebration of resilience, hope, and finding magic in life's imperfections.

Screening as part of Young Programmers Return to Youth film festival, alongside The Florida Project.

This event will start promptly with a special introduction by the Young Programmers and a screening of the short film See ya, Mr Banno! by Yoko Yuki*.

Please note there will be no adverts or trailers before this screening.
