Breathe 12A
Andy Serkis makes his directorial debut telling the story of Derbyshire-born advocate for the disabled, Robin Cavendish. At the age of 28, Robin (Andrew Garfield) was affected by polio and paralysed from the neck down. The doctors advised his wife, Diana (Claire Foy), to prepare for the worst and not expect him to live any more than a few months - months that would be spent confined to a hospital bed. A year later, Robin left hospital and his friend, the scientist Edward Hall (Hugh Bonneville), developed a wheelchair with a built-in respirator that would provide Robin – and others suffering from the effects of polio - with mobility. Robin and Diana would go on to raise their son together and devote their lives to helping polio patients.
