Brokeback Mountain 15
Brokeback Mountain
Adapted from a short story by Annie Proulx, Brokeback Mountain tells the story of
two ranchers Jack and Ennis who meet herding sheep in rural Wyoming in the
summer of 1963. Although both men go on to marry, what happened between them
that summer remains the most significant relationship of their lives.
A multi-award-winning film, Brokeback Mountain changed the face of gay cinema. Since its release, Proulx has received hundreds of letters from gay men and their families telling her how the story has changed their lives.
Due to staff strikes at Sheffield Hallam University, this Philosophy screening will not include an introduction or post-screening discussion.
