It’s 1983, and Armie Hammer is Oliver, a young academic who
takes up an internship with an eminent professor at his villa in northern
Italy. The professor’s 17 –year-old son, Elio, is also spending his summer
there, lounging by the pool and longing after his friend, Marzia.
Elio and Oliver soon find themselves drawn to one another,
and the two discover the pure beauty of desire that awakens over the course of
one fateful summer. Call Me By Your Name
is a stunning evocation of the heady highs and pummelling lows of first love,
on the sun-drenched Italian Riviera.
