Women-Led Comedy Workshop
Some are born funny, some become funny, and others learn it in a two-hour workshop. As part of the Women in Comedy strand of Funny Fortnights, we’re hosting comedic collaborators Natalie Diddams and Sophie Collins, to help you find your funny.
This women-led workshop centres around a radical approach to writing and performing stand-up. The performance remains the same – one person, one mic. But the writing and development comes from a place of support, fun, and creative criticism.
Natalie is a PhD candidate at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she is researching women’s empowerment through comedy. Sophie thinks she’s funny. Between them, they will run a two-hour workshop that will make you laugh and get you writing. Ultimately, you’ll have a chance to grab the mic in a supportive atmosphere.
Tickets are priced at £5, this cost includes a glass of wine (water & fruit juice will also be available) and light refreshments to get the creative juices flowing!
This workshop will run for 2 hours in our Café, after the screening of Adult Life Skills.
