This film was last shown on 27 July 2017
by the man himself and packed with previously unseen home footage and glimpses
of his extensive artwork, The Art Life
is an absorbing and enlightening journey through the formative experiences of
his early years that shaped the artist we as we know him today. Childhood
memories are given the same Lynchian spin that are familiar to viewers of his
films and there is the pervading sense that, despite being granted access to
memories through the grainy 16mm and his personal reflections, the man himself
will remain forever a dark and fantastical enigma.
