There's little space and even less equipment, but humanity abounds in Ramona Diaz's masterful cinema vérité portrait of the Phillipines' largest maternity hospital, where upwards of 100 babies are born each day. The efficient staff show new mothers how to care for preemies without incubators, at the same time dispensing often unwelcome advice on family planning.
