Don't Torture A Duckling 18
A great example of the ways in which a popular form, here the giallo style of violent thriller, can be used to critique institutions. In Lucio Fulci's film, a series of murders of young boys takes place in a rural village where suspicion falls on those resident's different and considered outsiders. Rumour has it that Fulci was blacklisted due to his critical representation of Italy's powerful social institutions.
