Dune is the story of Paul Atreides, a gifted young man born into a destiny beyond his understanding. To save his family and his people, he must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe, Arrakis, the source of the most valuable substance in space.
An adaptation of Frank Herbert’s landmark 1965 sci-fi novel, Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune is one of the most anticipated films of 2021. Villeneuve has is no stranger to science fiction, directing Arrival in 2016 and Blade Runner 2049 in 2017. Here he tackles a story that has been notoriously difficult to bring to the big screen in the past: Alejandro Jodorowksy and Ridley Scott both abandoned their versions, while David Lynch’s 1984 Dune has become something of a cult-classic.
