The Gleaners And I PG
In 2000, Agnès Varda travelled across France to study the world of foragers and scavengers called Gleaners. People collecting abandoned potatoes deemed too large or too misshapen and living off the food-waste of others. People gleaning market items and finding beauty in the scraps. An intriguing documentary feature about seeing and discovering, collecting and treasuring. Describing herself as a gleaner of ideas and images, Varda uses the camera as a mirror to create a unique portrait that places the director inside her own world of art and wonder.
