Hidden Figures PG
Based on a widely untold story, a group of brilliant, black female mathematicians take the world by storm in this springy and vital space-race thriller. 3 African-American women were instrumental in getting the Apollo missions off the ground but unsurprisingly the only names we know belong to white men.
The brains behind the mission, the three colleagues worked at NASA in the early 1960s at a time when people of colour were segregated in an outside office. Despite unequal pay and persistent discrimination, they all made a huge impact on aerospace engineering and their calculations helped to safely land the first American astronaut to orbit earth.
The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big. An irresistible joyous biopic about real superheroes. Mathematitans anyone?
