In a bid to cope with the anxiety and loneliness creeping up on a group of women whose partners are serving in Afghanistan, Kate (Kristin Scott Thomas) forms the Military Wives Choir. Lisa (Sharon Horgan), a more rebellious presence amongst the wives is sceptical at first but is soon warmed by the choir’s ability to bring the women together in the face of adversity.
