Lady Macbeth + Q&A
This moody and atmospheric British thriller was one of the most exciting newcomers at London Film Festival, undeniably setting up both its director William Oldroyd and talented lead Florence Pugh as ones-to-watch for 2017. Set in Victorian rural England, Katherine (Pugh) is a young bride sold into a suffocating and loveless marriage but unwilling to become a commodity. Lady Macbeth is a cautionary tale of a woman driven to the edge by containment and oppressive social norms, a fantastic first-feature that is an uncompromisingly ruthless exercise in gothic melodrama.
There will be a Q&A with Director William Oldroyd and Florence Pugh after the screening.
