"I'm a contractor for the Sydney Morning Herald Newspaper in Australia. I used to work for them when I lived in New Zealand. So now I just do roughly the same work from here. So I don’t actually run my own company but I’m contracted to them. I’m the sub-editor which means that I design pages, news pages and edit stories, write headlines, check facts and make sure everything runs smoothly in production while ensuring we have a newspaper out for 10:30am.

The company I work for is Fairfax media and there’s more than 5000 staff, but as I’m a contractor I’m not an employee as such and work alone at the Workstation. I moved in to the Workstation on the 1st June, so I've been here around 3 or 4 weeks. I used to be in a different shared office space in Sheffield and I also did work from home but now I've moved in to the Workstation, and it’s been great so far. A few things I like about the Workstation are how spacious it is, how I’ve got a really nice view of the Cholera Monument on the hill and how it’s always really busy downstairs. For the foreseeable future I can see a lot of very early starts as I have to be at my desk at 5:00am every morning because of the Time Zone difference and naps, lots of naps ha ha!"
