Mulholland Drive 15

Born of a failed TV pilot conceived during the production of Twin Peaks, Mullholland Dr. beings with the story of a woman (Laura Elena Herring) who – following a car accident – seems to be suffering from amnesia. She is found hiding in an apartment by Betty (Naomi Watts) who offers to help the woman discover her identity.
In typical Lynch fashion, generic conventions and stereotypes are thrown together into a giant mixing bowl, and the product is a seductively restless plot that simultaneously demands and resists interpretation. Mulholland Dr. is a jigsaw puzzle of a dream (is it a dream?) that is an utterly captivating watch, from one of the boldest and most intriguing minds working in film.
