Nightclubbing: The Birth of Punk Rock in NYC and Sid: The Final Curtain (15) 15
Filmmaker Danny Garcia, responsible for 2019 documentary ‘Rolling Stone: Life and Death of Brian Jones’ mixes rare archive footage with contemporary interviews in his latest project delving into the world of New York Punk Rock. Nightclubbing explores legendary nightclub Max’s Kansas City (1965-1981); its impact on music, fashion, culture and the birth of New York City’s Punk Rock scene. Featuring exclusive interviews with musicians, commentators and those who were there and can still remember including Alice Cooper and Billy Idol. Nightclubbing also includes rare footage of Iggy & The Stooges, New York Dolls, Sid Vicious, Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers.
Nightclubbing is shown alongside "Sid: The Final Curtain". A new short film documenting the final live performance of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious at Max's Kansas City in September 1978 featuring rare live footage and exclusive interviews from those who witnessed it.
