“Bow down, the Queen is in the building! Introducing Miss Patricia Dombrowski, AKA Patti Cake$, AKA Killa P!”
Patti Cake$ tells the story of 23-year-old Patricia, an aspiring rapper who lives with her mum and grandma in New Jersey. She works long shifts at a local bar and even longer shifts for a catering company to support her family and pay her grandma’s medical bills. Along with her best friend, Jheri, Patti writes awesome rhymes and dreams of being a hip hop megastar. Despite getting hate from the rest of the scene, Patti and Jheri form an unlikely friendship with a goth-metal musician called Basterd. Will the three of them – together with a bit of help from grandma – have what it takes to go all the way?
Patti Cake$ is raw, funny and uplifting - packed with sharp wit and unforgettable beats.
