Earth in Crisis: Plastic China + Q&A 15
Plastic China (dir. Wang Jiuliang) is a documentary focusing on an unschooled 11-year-old girl whose family works and lives in a typical plastic waste household-recycling workshop.
As much as her life is poor and distorted, she’s truly a global child who learns of the outside world from the waste workshop in which her family live and work - also known as the “United Nations of Plastic Waste.”
This touring season is curated by Newcastle University and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
This screening includes an in person Q&A with Director Wang Jiuliang.
