Jane Campion’s much-awaited return to the big screen arrives with The Power of the Dog, an adaptation of Thomas Savage's 1967 Western novel of the same name.

Set in 1920s Montana, the story follows two brothers Phil and George (Benedict Cumberbatch and Jesse Plemons) who run a successful cattle ranch. The brothers have a relationship built on bleak tolerance: Phil is domineering and arrogant while George is quiet and kind. Their relationship is upended when George marries local innkeeper Rose (Kirsten Dunst), who arrives to live on the ranch with her teenage son. This is Campion's first film in over a decade, and she returns with a complex neo-Western detailing themes of toxic masculinity set in the beautiful, sparse wilderness.
